Andaman Islands Elephant The Andamans, a chain of Islands in the Bay of Bengal, remained in a charmed Cocoon from explorers for centuries, as the tempestuous waters and dense forest blocked all entrances.

Scuba Diving in Andaman Andaman & Nicobar Scuba Diving Society: The Andaman and Nicobar groups of Islands form two distinct island group constituting a continuous N-S chain in the Eastern part of the Bay of Bengal. The coastal waters surrounding these islands are the abode of India's richest coral reef ecosystem comparable to any coral reef ecosystem in productivity and diversity.

As the coral reefs are largely undamaged by human activity they are mainly in better condition than found anywhere else in the world. The fish population is huge and diverse. The A & N islands combine as unique destinations where nature has been preserved.

While domestic tourist can visit any part of Andaman and Nicobar except restricted areas, foreigners are allowed to visit only the following areas with prior permission obtainable from :
Indian Mission outside India. Foreigners Regional registration offices at Delhi, Bombay and Calcutta.
