Kalimat Estate, Almora, Kumaon Himalayas
Kalimat Estate, Almora Kumaon lies at the feet of the tallest Indian mountains, Nanda Devi 7816m, Kamet 7756m, Chowkhamba 7140m, Trishul 7120m, Mrigthuni 6855m, Nanda Kot 6860m and Panch Chuli 6903m, making this one of the most attractive Himalayan destinations closest to Delhi.

Situated between Garhwal to the west and Nepal to the east, this area offers extensive possibilities to connect towards the national parks of Nepal or pilgrimage centres of Garhwal. Established in 1815, Almora enjoys the distinction of being the first British hill station. The buildings and estates around Almora town reflect a curious mixture of British colonial and Kumaoni architecture.

Kalmatia Sangam Himalaya Resort (KaSa), is set in the Kumoan Himalayas, 7km beyond Almora on the Binsar road. Kalmatia has 9 comfortable cottages named after birds like Scrlett Minivet, Himalayan Magpie, Gold Finch etc, each affording expansive views of the Himalayas. All the cottages are designed differently, decorated in warm tones and equipped with ensuite bathrooms with modern facilities. A few cottages are on two levels, spacious with large doors and windows that let in the light and the views. The restuarant in Kalmatia opens out onto the terrace which on a clear day blesses you with incredible views of the western himalayan ranges.

Kalmatia serves a variety of cuisines from local Kumaoni food to a range of continental and Indian dishes. Kalmatia Sangam is also equipped with an activity room and a meditation park, ideal for organising special programs, cultural events, workshops on yoga and meditation.
